Description

Stable Name: Aoraki
Aoraki was named after the tallest mountain in New Zealand, Aoraki.
Gender: Stallion
Breed: Kaimanawa
Colour: Black Tobiano
Eye Colour: Brown
Genotype: Ee / aa / TT
Bloodlines: Foundation
Age: 7 Years Old
Height: 14.2hh
Discipline: We'll see. :plotting:
Temperament: Aoraki couldn't exactly be considered easy to handle. He does what he wants, and only what he wants. If someone can get him to believe it's what he wanted, sure, he'll do it. But that's a little difficult sometimes. And he loves running. Nope, he doesn't want to walk or trot. He really just wants to canter, or gallop. If there's an object in his way, oh well, he'll jump it if he can, and will certainly try even if he can't.
(his personality will be expanded more in the future)

Breeding Requests: Closed (for now)
Number 46 of the Kaimanawa-Challenge.

As soon as he was free from human hands, Aoraki galloped into his new surrounding. Without taking a glance at his new pasture, the stallion charged up to face Dean, who was luckily standing just out of reach on the other side of the fence.

"You're taking a while to train him," Parry, Dean's younger sister, joked, while observing the Kaimanawa.

"Hey, this one's a difficult one! And besides, Marissa told me the stallion was very manageable! I mean, obviously not completely since he used to be wild, but more than this," Dean said, pretending to grumble. Marissa, his boss, had decided he should have the experience of training a wild horse, and had chosen one for him. Really though, he was quite pleased with her choice. A little nervous, but nevertheless happy.

"Hey, could you get a camera? Kate wanted to see him after he got into his pasture, but she's off watching her older sister compete and can't come. So I was planning to send her some pictures..." Dean explained. Parry ran off, and returned with her favourite camera. Aoraki had eventually decided Dean wasn't any fun and and finally charged off to search his pasture. He was still canter around happily by the time Parry was finished. She took a lot of photos, definitely more than needed, and passed the camera over to Dean to send off.

This isn't really what would be happening first, but this is my first image for Kaimanawa-Challenge. The reference image is required to be the first image you submit (as far as I'm aware). This does still, however, go after several other images in the story. I'll put a link here when I do them. :D This time the story is fairly short, but I feel like I hadn't really planned anything too special to be happening for the reference, and it's a little weird for a lot to be happening for a reference anyway. =P
Any sorry about the scanner, it's a little... strange quality. :XD: I'm fairly pleased with (mainly) the original though!

He's stunning! All the work you put into shading his muscles was so worth it! :D You did a good job of varying the shading tones to show his black and white patches, and his anatomy is great! The shape of his head, the perspective on his body, and the proportions of his legs all look just right, and together they give a realistic sense of motion, so you can really see how he's carrying his weight as he moves. His mane and tail have the perfect structure as well.
